Elstree & Borehamwood station was opened by the Midland Railway in 1868 on its extension to St. Pancras when it was called simply Elstree. In 1869 it was renamed Elstree & Boreham Wood but in 1904 went back to Elstree. The station was renamed Elstree & Borehamwood again in 1953 but reverted to Elstree yet again in 1974. Finally it reverted to Elstree & Borehamwood in 1988. The station was modernised in 1959. This view looks northwards along the down slow line. The two fast lines are to the left beyond the railings.
