"South Gyle Station opened by Councillor Brian A. Meek OBE JP Convenor Lothian Regional Council in recognition of the financial contribution made by Lothian Regional Council to the construction of this station 9-5-85 Scotrail" This station is being sidelined by Edinburgh Gateway and the tram, and fewer and fewer stops seem to happen here. Plus they seem to have eliminated any means of paying in cash, which is another black mark against it. The station is featured in the novel "Trainspotting" by Irvine Welsh.
