The village of Inverarity sits on the Kerbet Water, with the kirk in the picture being built in 1754. The kirkyard contains the grave of John Cathro, who was the factor and rent collector for Bonnie Dundee. Also buried here are the father, mother and brother of Peter Smith, the founder of Dundee in South Africa. The Dundee in South Africa was originally called Talana ("the shelf where precious items are kept") Farm.
