The small bell in the birdcage belfry on the west gable is inscribed "Roxburgh Edr 1702" and is operated by an external cable. The belfry has within the last few years been repaired and the pineapple finial has been renewed. (Source: The Churches and Graveyards of Roxburghshire by G.A.C. Binnie).
