A showery day, shortly before my vsit, must have raised the water level after a very dry summer. Mr. and Mrs.Coot were busy, up and down the water channel, collecting twigs and leaves to raise the level of the nest. Junior Coot 'helped' by arranging the twigs on the nest, all part of the learning process.
