Originally the Guthrie Memorial Free Church, built in 1844, it opened as the John Fulton Memorial Hall in 1920, and remains the public hall for Fenwick. John Fulton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fulton_(instrument_maker)] was instrument maker to William IV, and is most famous for constructing orreries (working models of the solar system). The finest of these is preserved in Glasgow Museums, and is on display in Kelvingrove Museum.
