The Catalina is on the threshold of Runway 24 at Southend Airport. The 24 refers to 240 degrees the orientation of the runway. Behind the plane you can see the wires of the railway track on the Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street Line. You can also see the roofs of houses in Southend Road, Rochford.
