Garston Garage, in its later years sometimes known as Watford Garage, has since 1997 been operated by Arriva, now a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. The garage was opened in 1952 by London Transport for its Country Buses and Coaches operation with accommodation for 150 vehicles. The premises comprise a long two-storey administrative block and canteen facing St Albans Road separated from the running sheds behind it by a forecourt. Since the beginning of 2016 activity at the garage has been gradually reduced as a result of adminsistrative restructuring by Arriva and the loss of work to competing operators. Indeed the garage will close altogether after 31st August this year when its last remaining operations are taken over by London Sovereign.
