Tucked away on the Heartlands site is a circular structure that I am stood on, possibly a former chimney, a horizontal winder foundations (the square area just right of centre) and two boiler houses with settings. The winding engine was for Palmer's shaft and the building was destroyed by fire in 1974. The square chimney on the left is on a boiler house that served Bickford's shaft. In the distance can be seen the chimney and engine house of Michell's whim at East Pool.
