The Union Building is a former Aviva building dating from the early 1970s which has since been redeveloped and currently offers office and studio space within the 70,000 sq foot property. It is also home to Norwich's first rooftop bar and restaurant, has a fully equipped gym and an underground car park. On completion it was originally known as Snow House but when opened in 1978 was called Winthertur House since it was the then head office of the Norwich Winthertur Group, an insurance company which formed part of the Aviva Group. In the mid-1990s, it became the Rose Lane Business Centre, and from 2007 onwards stood vacant and nearly derelict until it was bought privately in mid-2015 and, after refurbishment, called The Union Building.
