The play area at the Public Park was opened on 26th May 2018 in memory of Rowan Boland, a talented young sportsman from Galashiels. The facility was funded by Scottish Borders Council, Galashiels Pay and Display fund surpluses and a grant from Tesco’s Bags of Help Scheme. (Source: site information board)
