In part, a suburban residential street - but very much within the gravitational field of Gatwick Airport. A short distance ahead (on the right, white car emerging) there's the entrance to a Travel Lodge. Behind the camera, parking bays used by off-duty taxi-drivers stretch along the road for hundreds of metres.
