White Lund Industrial Estate

White Lund Industrial Estate was the site of a munitions factory (National Shell Filling Factory 13) during the First World War. This was almost totally destroyed by explosions and fire in October 1917. The site is now occupied by numerous industrial and business units, and (in the foreground) mobile homes. In the distance in the centre is a gas holder, which is due to be demolished.
