Seen in the foreground at left is the cast-iron base of what would seem to be the tall post of a stench pipe of similar height to one recently photographed in Queen's Road > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5779339. It bears the Norwich City crest on one side > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5785003 and the maker's name (Woodrow & Co, London) on the other. AC Woodrow & Co specialised in cast-iron castings and are one of the most commonly seen names on manhole covers and other street ironware. The business was started in Holborn, London, but later moved out to Kent.
