Some of the remaining buildings of what was the biggest torpedo factory in the UK during both world wars. Category B Listed http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/pls/htmldb/f?p=2200:15:0::::BUILDING:50579 , viewed from Lyle Hill. The factory was the first home of IBM in Scotland when they opened a typewriter factory there in 1951 before moving to Spango Valley. IBM had a presence at Fort Matilda until the late 1980s. The complex is now occupied by an indoor play area and a confectionery factory. Fort Matilda railway station is in the foreground.
