This is the last ingot mould cast at Dowlais and was destined for the BSC Llanwern works. It was cast on 22 September 1987. It is cast in spheroidal graphite cast iron with a wall thickness of 241 mm and weighs 23 tonnes. It was used for cast steel ingots and could be used 120 times. The ingot it contained weighed 18.8 tonnes. The red brick building in the background is the blowing engine house from 1905-7 that blew the new blast furnaces of Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds at Dowlais Iron Works.
