Fishermen's Beacon Stone

This is one of two beacon pillars which were used to help skippers guide their boats into Maidens harbour. The fire would be contained in a metal basket on the top. This one was located in fields above the older houses in Ardlochan Road but was left in place during the 1970s residential development. The other stone is shown in Image on the other side of the bay.
