The Plaque above the door says "AD 1828, Gift of Henry Ripley of Drumnakelly to The Primitive Wesleyan Methodist Society. Upon Mr Ripley's death he bequeathed the site and £200 to build the church. It was opened for worship in 1829. The church was renovated in 1890 and again in 1926. Electricity was installed in 1936.
