Hair salon at 34 Park Crescent on the corner of Upper Wood Street. Stephen Wilks recalls that this used to be the tuckshop for Bargoed Grammar Technical School, run by a very pleasant Commonwealth weightlifting medallist. The tuckshop was very busy at lunch times. From about 1968, there was a colour TV behind the counter, the first that Stephen had ever really got to watch. It was also the first place where Stephen saw ring-pull drinks cans.
