Public house with accommodation and horse racing connections overlooking the village crossroads. Central bar, eating and drinking areas front, left, back and rear. Exposed beams, background music and patio. Cask ales on offer at my visit: Fuller's London Pride, West Berkshire Good Old Boy. A brick plaque dates the premises to 1789, rebuilt in 1890, probably referring to the Castle Street Brewery, Reading.
