Peter Randall-Page RA was born in the UK in 1954 and studied sculpture at Bath Academy of Art from 1973-77. During the past 30 years he has gained an international reputation through his sculpture, drawings and prints. Envelope of Pulsation (for Leo) is carved from a rare block of granite from Blackenstone Quarry on Dartmoor. It is the latest in a series of work exploring the way in which subtle modulations of the stone's surface can evoke a sense of internal structure in the imagination of the viewer. "Envelope of Pulsation" is a tantric aphorism describing form. The dedication is for Peter's late friend, Leo, who owned the quarry from which the granite came. Looking south-southeast.
