This Horse Statue in Hawick was unveiled in 1914. It marked the 400th anniversary of the young men of Hawick thwarting an English raid on the town. It shows a young lad, a Callant, returning to the town with a captured banner. At the other end of the High Street there is a newer statue unveiled in 2014 to commemorate the 500th anniversary.
