This Austin 10 Cambridge saloon car was first registered in April 1937. The Austin Motor Company manufactured a total of 290,000 Austin 10s at its plant in the Longbridge area of Birmingham between 1932 and 1947. The Austin 10 Cambridge model such as the one in this image was produced from 1937 to 1947. It was equipped with a 1,125cc, 4-cylinder engine capable of a top speed of 59 miles per hour and with advertised fuel consumption of 35 miles per gallon under normal driving conditions. The Austin 10 Cambridge retailed new in 1938 for around £195 (GBP 195); adjusted for inflation, this was equivalent to £12,665.50 (GBP 12,665.50) at 2018 prices.
