St Thomas a Becket Church ruins in Heptonstall

Founded in 1260 this church was badly damaged by a storm in 1847. It was replaced soon afterwards by a new church dedicated to St Thomas the Apostle. The churchyard is greatly packed with old gravestones as this picture partly shows.
