A view from Wellington Road. The first row of houses, with dark houses, is part of a listed terrace "probably 1870s, following the opening up of the Ellacombe Valley by Sir Lawrence Palk for working men's dwellings" https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1280051 . Between their dark roofs and the houses beyond (around the junction of Victoria Road and Alexandra Road) is Ellacombe Green.
