Gravestone to two brothers who died at home after seeing action in the First World War. Samuel Meeke was captured and held as a prisoner of war but sadly died shortly after returning home (see http://www.36thulster.com/samuel-meeke.html ). Also recorded on the gravestone, and on the newer stone to the left, is Robert Meeke who was awarded the Military Medal after attending to Major William Redmond (see http://historyhubulster.co.uk/tag/private-john-meeke/ ).
