Looking towards the bridge over the Cambridge to Ely railway line from the junction with Garlic Row (left). Here, the outbound bus lane ends, traffic lights being provided to give buses priority when merging with other traffic. On the inbound side (right), the line of stationary cars queuing for the traffic lights at the entrances to the retail parks 200yds or so behind the photographer illustrates the value of the bus lane on that side. These bus priority measures are used by local services, interurban services (primarily from Newmarket), and the Newmarket Road Park & Ride service.
