Seen from the Saxon Shore Way/White Cliffs Country Trail, planning permission was granted by Dover District Council under application number 17/00178 for the “prior notif[i]cation for the demolition of multi-storey car park[s] and link bridges”. The work on removing the multi-storey car park can also be seen in this image of Image The planning application states that the building is not to be completely demolished as levels 1 and 2 are to be refurbished and made weatherproof. This seems to be the reason why scaffolding is now being erected over the remains of the multi-storey car park.
