The lower inscription on the west face of the Leigh family tomb Image in the graveyard at Hyde Chapel reads: SHE IS GONE. THE FAIR FLOWER OF OUR FIRESIDE. CUT DOWN IN THE MIDST OF HER BLOOM: BUT HER WORTH AND HER MEMORY STILL WITH US ABIDE, THOUGH SHE LIES IN THE COLD SILENT TOMB. OUR ALICE GONE BUT NOT FORGOT.
