This 16-storey block just finished on the site of the former Landis and Gyr works canteen has 173 apartments for long term private rental. On the right is a Holiday Inn hotel, on the left is an Imperial College student residence. The block is named after the BBC Rehearsal Rooms which were the other side of the road - I suppose the developers didn't want to call their new apartments "The Works Canteen". "The BBC’s Television Rehearsal Rooms opened in 1970; a facility offering 18 rooms where performers could perfect their lines before stepping in front of the cameras to record. It was also the home of the corporation’s Wardrobe and Wigs collection." - extract from blog on the Rehearsal Rooms developers website http://rehearsalrooms.com/ .
