The London home of Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson. The elevated location, clean air and village atmosphere of Hampstead was thought to be health enhancing (indeed it was an 18th century spa) but the author of Treasure Island, Kidnapped, and Doctor Jekyll ... still died young (aged 44) of a brain haemorrhage, on the island of Samoa.
