Cast iron post by the A540, in parish of MOLLINGTON (CHESTER District), East of Overwood Lane junction, rear of very wide verge, on North side of road. Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : CHESTER / 3 MILES : : CHESHIRE / 1896 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : NESTON / 8 MILES / PARKGATE 8¾ / GAYTON 9¼ / HESWALL 10 / WEST KIRBY 15 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKER / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_WKCH15.
