Cast iron post by the A559, in parish of Great Budworth (Vale Royal District), South of Great Budworth cross roads, in front of hedge, on North East side of road. Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : NORTHWICH / 3 MILES : : CHESHIRE / 1896 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : STRETTON / 4½ MILES / STOCKTON HEATH / 6¾ MILES / WARRINGTON 8 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_WANW08
