Cast iron post by the A537, in parish of Rainow (Macclesfield District), Buxton New Road; South of Grove Farm, near Back Eddisbury Road, on the verge back to high dry stone wall, on East side of road. Buxton iron bobbin, erected by the Macclesfield & Buxton turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : MACCLᴰ. / 1¾ MILES : : BUXTON / 10 / MILES : Maker:- : J.
