Carved stone post by the A417, in parish of East Hendred (Vale of White Horse District), Reading Road; opposite White Road, on narrow grass verge, on North side of road. Vale square, erected by the Wallingford, Wantage & Faringdon turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- WALLINGFORD 10 WANTAGE 4 Oxfordshire HER.
