Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of Compton Beauchamp (Vale of White Horse District), Compton Beauchamp, opposite post box, on wide well kept grass verge, on East side of road. Shrivenham pillar, erected by the Wallingford, Wantage & Faringdon turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- To Wantage VIII Miles Carved benchmark and rivet on top. Oxfordshire HER.
