Carved stone post by the A4, in parish of Thatcham (West Berkshire District), Chapel Street; at traffic lights for Broadway, on pavement beside old brick wall and water pump, on North side of road. Bath Road limestone shoulders, erected by the Speenhamland to Reading turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / READING / 14 : : To / LONDON / 53 : : To / NEWBURY / 3 : Carved benchmark at front on base. Grade II listed.
