Looking down the towpath of the Rochdale Canal towards the Albion Street bridge. On the right is the rear of Jurys Inn and just this side of the bridge is the Grade II listed Albion Warehouse Image https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1279694 originally built in the 1860s. Looming into view between them but actually some distance away is the Beetham Tower. On the left are the Hacienda apartments. Beyond the bridge is Albion Lock #90. The Canal & River Trust have been carrying out repairs to the canal which was drained between locks 90 and 91. An Open Weekend gave visitors a chance to walk through the drained part of the canal. Towering above everything is the Axis Tower development originally intended to be a 15 storey luxury apartment block but now going to be 28 storeys.
