"Palace (rems of)" says the 1:50,000 OS map. At Tower Farm there are traces of a favourite palace of the Bishops of Ely. "The fragments of the palace visible now are those of a building by Bishop Alcock. Mainly two buildings and some remains of wall between them ... The barn further W has a stepped gable" (Nikolaus Pevsner).
