So, the people forbidden entry are the very people who could use the canoe, and whilst others can come and go at will the canoeists have to stay outside, burning with frustration. Or maybe you can only be a canoeist if you have a canoe? In which case you enter as a lay-person, pick up the canoe and become a canoeist, but then stroll out confident of your righteousness because you are exiting, not entering. That, your honour, concludes my speech for the defence.
