This is Harpenden's iconic tribute to Victorian railway bridge engineers where the former Midland Railway crosses Southdown Road. The road and the railway diverge at an angle no greater than about 25°. See Image for a sideways view and a clearer rendition of the Herts Advertiser advertisement painted on the bridge parapet.
