A Category A Listed church building http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB34095 at the east end of Greenock Esplade. This building was successor to the original 1591 building which was the first Presbyterian church to be built in Scotland after the Reformation and enabled the people of Greenock to worship locally. Their nearest church was previously at Inverkip, about 5 miles away as the crow flies. The Historic Environment Scotland Listing http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB34095 is worth reading as it provides much detail about the building and its history.
