Haggate is a neat village on the outskirts of Burnley. It is grouped around a crossroads, with the four roads being named, very logically: (clockwise from the north), Nelson Road, Halifax Road, Todmorden Road and Burnley Road. There are two pubs, which sit at opposite corners of the crossroads: the 'Sun' here, in the north-west angle. There is a convenient bus service to Haggate from Burnley, so those who wish to sample the brews on offer need not restrict themselves to extreme moderation.
