Eighteenth century house built of Northamptonshire sandstone refaced with stucco. A plaque on the wall outside (Image]) records that the Baptist Missionary Society was founded in this house by William Carey of Leicester in 1792. A further (blue) plaque attached to the wall next to the door tells us that the artist Thomas Cooper Gotch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Cooper_Gotch was born here (Image]). The building, also known as "The Mission House", is a Grade II* listed (List entry Number: 1051659 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1051659 Historic England).
