Introduction
The photograph on this page of Alciston tithe barn: cart entrance and roof by Stefan Czapski as part of the Geograph project.
The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.
There are currently over 7.5m images from over 14,400 individuals and you can help contribute to the project by visiting https://www.geograph.org.uk

The entrance faces the village street, near the south-east end of the barn. As tends to be the case with ancient barns, the roof shows a lot of 'topography' - though I have seen more extreme examples: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4619745 The barn walls would, I suppose, be described as being built of coursed flint.
