A carving over the door shows "J&A Sewell 1799", which suggests a building date at the very end of the 18th Century, although there are probably later additions. The pub was State Managed from 1 August 1916 until sold in 1973 for £8,550. Converted from a pub to private dwelling in 1982. See also: Image] .
