This magnificent building, built in French Renaissance style in the 1890s (the ground-floor shopfronts are 20th century) was given a Grade II listing https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101387621-numbers-6-to-24-and-st-albans-public-house-cheltenham#.WZvOxz596M9 in 1983. It was originally a row of 10 shops, with the St Albans inn at this end (i.e. the premises now occupied by the ubiquitous Costa Coffee)
