- Road Block: DoB ID: e42027 There are just two roads leading inland from Fairbourne, both cross the mainline railway. The main road out goes through the town to the north where there is little sign of any remaining defences, but here on the minor road leaving Fairbourne to the south it is a different story. Where the road past the beach turns sharply north after leaving the railway bridge are two large stone blocks that were deliberately placed to narrow the road, or to act as a component part of a road block. This would have been a choke point should the enemy have succeeded in overcoming the beach defences. Image
