Built in 1784, it has had a very varied history. It replaced an earlier Baptist chapel, before becoming a Sunday School when a new church http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5483628 was built on Queen's Drive in 1858. It is Listed Grade II and the description (from 1975) refers to it as a Nazarene Church, but it is also on OS maps as Elim Church. More recently it became a night club, but at the time of my visit it was unoccupied and advertised for sale.
