Chetham's School of Music

The school is an independent specialist music school founded in 1969 from Chetham's Hospital School which was founded by Humphrey Chetham in 1653. Humphrey Chetham was a successful textile trader who in 1628 bought Turton Tower near Bolton (see SD 7315).
